Concept Art
The concept art needs improving by the position of the character, I should have kept that in mind when drawing it, I will improve this for next time to think of positions of what would suit my character before hand.
I should have added everything in my concept art of what I wanted to show in my final piece, such as hair. However, I was still thinking on what I should add hair for hair, I did do drawings of hair to have, but I still wasn't sure, as I couldn't see it on my model for a final piece, as I was afraid if it will give off a mermaid effect. Next time I will ask for feedback, as on things I am stuck on, because when I did get feedback it did actually improved my work flow.
Z-brush
Even though I had no pervious experience on Z-Brush. I did have problems where I was an alien to the software, but later on I did get the hand of it, due to this problem I started late, but as soon I learn a technique I will start on working on something asap. Z-Brush did crash on me many times. I became dishearten due this problem and started to make different aspect of my work in different folders then bring it to one. when Z-Brush did decided to behaviour. Which It did. One of the problems I faced was having in different folders. How would I mold it onto Alaska, and make it look good, However, I over came this problem, but left me with a little bit stretch mesh of a top, as I drew every part of the top and back top, I would love for it to show the pattern the way I drew them . Nevertheless, it still gave a nice effect and still matched the idea I had in mind. There is problems with Z-brush that many people know. However, I think you shouldn't get dishearten like I did, because it is a nice software and helps to bring your designs to life, which I love.
I worked on the base of my crystals on 3Ds max, as Z-brush wasn't working the way I wanted too, as I wanted to make more polys- subdivision. However, it only made more polys on the side of the cylinder. So I just made it over 3Ds max and brought it over to Z-Brush to fix it and add more of a crystal effect, which I did. However, the base, didn't look crystals just spikes of ice, which is slightly disappointing, as crystal would have added to the effect of the Snow queen imagery that I am going for. However, I did do some research on Crystals and I decided to do quartz crystals and I research on what power they have and they had the power of giving energy. I thought it will add to the concept of my idea. Of the crystals giving of energy to the power, making her strength more powerful and harder to destroy the power, on her own, which links back to the backstory, of her power over taking her, but now its harder than before.
I think I could have worked on the hands even more, even though I did work on it, as it has improved from the feedback that the lecturer gave me- to make the hand bigger. Which I did do. But I still want to make it look more realistic. It looks very thin and flat. The eyes could have had a bit of working on, as they are just balls and not shaped into the eye. Saying that, I did shape it to the eye shape, as I wanted it to look like the eyes from my inspirations, but it looked too weird and the ball shaped, suited it better, However, if I worked on it a bit more. I think I would have got it right.
Overall, I am happy with the outcome because from my first presentation talking about my concept, not many people understood the vision I had for the snow queen, till the concept art came out. I do hope now when they see the rendered completed version of my art piece, they can finally see what I had in mind, because the look she has is exactly how I wanted her and vision her.
Rendering on Z-brush
I rendered a few times to find out I Rendered it as a doc file, rather than a movie, so I lost a close up rendering. and I would loved to show close up of patterns and even cracks that you can see through the vest top.
Lighting was an issue, it was too bright too dark. I did do some testers. However, my favourite rendering was without any lighting. So I left my turnout to have natural lighting. The material I used gave off cold stone like feel, which suits the expression of a stoic character, which I wanted to give her. The hints of cold colours adds to the appearances of being cold, in welcoming, which links to my poem.
If I knew how to work the lighting situation I would have done it and make it fit the Snow Queen.
Blog
I do wish the blog post was in order, as some post became missed placed, because blogger isn't that good, with keeping posts as draft. This is something that I wasn't aware off. I will improve this by posting everything time I do something, as I have missed a few thing such as experimentations that I could have uploaded on blogger.
My images seems to disappear, as I did a tester on another laptop, to see my blog is accessible to anyone. However I made every image a Pang/ Jpeg. This has fixed the problem, but that is quite annoying to deal with.
Disclaimer
I have written 44 blog posts. I have notice, you have to find the 'older posts' on the right side, It will highlight 'older post' once you hover you mouse over it. The last page, Is me defining what an anti-hero is.

Eyes, Eyes, Eyes are important. They are the windows to the soul. But also can tell if you are taken over ( if you are possessed) , as her body has been taken over by an unknown cold sprit, the unknown spirit- Its unknown, because it shows the matter of the fear of the unknown.
Here i was testing different eyes and expression.
I came across this photo and thought this was good for the eyes. This shows more of a cold stone appearance that I am going for.

Expression: This photo shows a stoic expression and I think the eyes gives off this impression- which I would like to add to my characters features.

For facial features I looked for my Snow Queen Alaska was inspired by this image below.

Here I used the shaped of her nose, as it was thin, thought it will fit with her face shape, because it showed features of a Caucasian person, which my Alaska is.

Cracks
The Cracks have been selected carefully onto the body, where everywhere is different and different place. But most of all has purposed.
Crakes down her the leg is to show the crystals has a lot of Energy (Stone medicines) , as they are Quartz Crystals, giving energy to her power, as her left leg are straight down on the crystals is breaking her legs)
Crakes on her arms shows her left broke off, and is still continuing to break off, linking back to the fact her power is taking over her and she needs to find 'true love' to break away this overriding power of Cold.

Crakes on her back, shows it is sprinting to her back
Hair.
Hair, before I wasn't sure to make hair or not, because I wanted to show that she is slowly been taken from her virtues. However, I didn't not like how the crown sat on her head, she didn't look powerful, so I had to put hair. I didn't want it to go down her shoulders, as an overall look it would good, might give of a mermaid effect. Having up in a nice bun, displays seriousness, strength, Power. Everything I wanted on her.

Drawings of figuring out hair.
I did like it on her, the bun is something I had In mind
so I went for this hair up style-

Experimenting with angles, random things i might want to add to the scene
The deatil going straight down from her legs- is apparent here which links to my concept art
Adding more cracks and broken things. However, it is too distracting to have in the scene
adding more objects to the scene. However it looks too out of place
Looking at other places I can place this snowflake, because I did a doodle in class linked down below. Where I was inspired to do something along though lines. But I didn't because it will be a last minute change and I still wanted to finish this concept art of 2. The original place I thought off was with the other one along with the other snowflake coming from the hand.
There is a snowflake underneath her to represent as a shadow.
I was inspired by this drawing- Done by Conniekim. Here Instagram is here-https://www.instagram.com/p/BRjS58MD2pw/?taken-by=conniekims&hl=en
I thought the pattern on the skin was very interesting concept and I was inspired to do the same, add it onto the skin as well, but bring it out around her, to represent as her power source, which I did in the doodle.
Moving the top on the back
The back has its own detail then the front, as I wanted to keep the theme of Snowflakes are unique and are all different- which they are :D! No Snowflake are a-like (Kenneth G. Libbrecht, P.1 Snow Crystal-https://www.its.caltech.edu/~atomic/snowcrystals/alike/alike.htm) Every Slow flake, design everything are different and drawn on to give a unique feature, but to follow the brokenness of my Character.
I removed the character and have such a nice effect of the broken snowflakes intertwining together, trying to be whole again.
Coloring the model
suits the theme, but looses the details, However i like the ice statue it gives off
This is a nice effect but it goes off my theme
Nice colour works well with the window ice heart.
Went for this, because it gave a stone cold effect.
Lighting Testers
I have spend a long time trying to get the lighting right. I wanted my material to be natural. However, it would not let me. It was changed every-time by the lighting.
Here are the results on lighting.
Here are the results on lighting.
Too harsh, nice colors but removes the details
too dark
The shading isnt nice, makes her look completely evil
red colour is too warm.
to bright, makes her look like some Goddness, which is not the effect i am going for
Too harsh , nice effect, but the lighting isn't quite right
In the end I went for no lighting, as I found it was too harsh or too dark. With no lighting showed the detailed of the piece and cracks you may see that lays on her chest.
'Dynamic Wrinkles and Drapery' By Burne Hogarth
Personally rating of 5/5
I have taken this book out to help me with natural wrinkles on a character's top. I originally looked at this book for one my ideas, that only stayed a concept art, figure 1. This wasn't much needed for Snow queen. However, this didn't stop me from driving into the text. The imagery in this books, was absolutely beautifully drawn, with folds of wrinkles and creases, making a statement. It demonstrate the direction of the wrinkles taking place and how to do it, giving such useful information. Personally, i didn't know much about wrinkles and would incorporated anyway, but without knowing where why it goes here. It talks about 'thrust force lines' and reason why. informing new information that makes drawing more meaningful.

This would have helped figure 1 and adding wrinkles in the right place of the model, as this model did not come through, as i changed it.
This book also showed extreme expressions with full of character, matching to their personality. it was very different to see. However, it open my eyes on how expressionist i may need to make my character. It is something quite hard as my character is supposed to have a Stoic expression, so i will try to make her as stoic as possible.
Overall a good book with different demonstration, each page is a different character and learning something new.
'The human Figure' By Mark Bergin- Book Review
Personal Rating of 5/5
This was a good book as it showed me the figure proportion ans what i needed for the female to have and how big a head it is from the body, This booked helped me to try and get portions right and also seeing a natural figure without exaggerated figure, as it i can work from it. Figure 1, shows where it helped me have the natural curves of the human figure, as i wanted to a realistic figure as possible, that is why i looked at various types of book, I have combined each figure i studied into my character for the outcome to be as similar as my concept art work. This book also showed me angles of and how to draw them in those positions, so now it will be easier to know how to move my character in different positions, because i know how to draw them.Once you get a good feel of something in a 2D drawing stage. It makes easier and confident in a 3D environment.
Overall this may be a thing small books. However, it is full of useful knowledge that i will help me in later life, due to its good tutoring.
Exhibition V & A Museum of childhood
V & A museum of childhood
Address: Cambridge Heath Rd, London E2 9PA
I went to an exhibition, to try and see if anything can inspired me.
It was a cool experience to different objects from different century and toys, that i looked at. There was a lot too look at with two floors, filled with toys. This was very Overwhelming with different things to see. However it was an nice experience to see the history of toys.
I saw this Star Was Slide Projector set and it mention it was made in England by Chad Valley Company. This set was a very popular toy in the 1970s . This was cool too see. Even though this has doesn't have anything for my Snow Queen. However, Going out to exhibitions to open you mind to other things and maybe making hybrids with unusual things can be interesting.
This was interesting, as the maker of the moving Camera, 1997-of the circuits and motors , was used by wooden spoons and engineering materials. The materials as simple as they are. They have created a powerful machine. This adds to my snow queen as her power is simple but yet so powerful and performances such greatness.

Overall this was good day out, to see ancient Toys and how they came about. It helped with different aspect in my snow queen, as small at it was. Going out and looking and seeing different things is very good, as it opens your mind to different things that you may have not thought off and freshers the mind, which is something;
